About Florida Deck Refurbishing

Two Decades of Hardwood Restoration Excellence in South Florida

Our Story

Florida Deck Refurbishing was founded on a simple principle: Ipe and exotic hardwood decks deserve expert care — not guesswork. Over more than 20 years, we have built a reputation as South Florida's most trusted specialists in hardwood deck restoration, refinishing, and long-term maintenance.

Our work spans luxury waterfront residences, high-traffic commercial properties, hardwood docks, boardwalks, and architectural outdoor living spaces throughout Florida, coastal Georgia, and Hilton Head. We understand the unique demands of Florida's climate — intense UV exposure, high humidity, salt air, and seasonal rainfall — and we know exactly how those conditions affect Ipe, Cumaru, Garapa, Tigerwood, and other tropical hardwoods.

More than half of our new clients come to us after a previous contractor caused damage with improper sealers, aggressive pressure washing, or incompatible products. We specialize in correcting those mistakes and restoring decks to their original beauty — often saving clients from expensive replacement.

What We Specialize In

Ipe Deck Restoration & Refinishing

Ipe is one of the world's densest and most durable hardwoods — but it requires specialized knowledge to restore properly. We have refined our process over thousands of projects.

Exotic Hardwood Species

Beyond Ipe, we work with Cumaru, Garapa, Tigerwood, Massaranduba, and other tropical species, each with its own density, grain, and finishing requirements.

Florida Climate Expertise

South Florida's combination of UV intensity, salt air, humidity, and rainfall creates conditions that accelerate hardwood weathering. Our restoration methods are specifically calibrated for this environment.

Residential & Commercial

From private waterfront estates to resort boardwalks and country club terraces, we have the equipment, crew, and experience to handle projects of any scale.

Damage Correction

We regularly restore decks damaged by failed DIY attempts, incompatible products, or inexperienced contractors — work that requires careful assessment and a methodical approach.

Industry Recognition

Our work has been recognized by NADRA (North American Deck and Railing Association) with multiple national awards. We have also been featured in Deck Specialist Magazine, Destination Miami, and on the Travel Channel. These recognitions reflect our commitment to craftsmanship, professionalism, and results.
